Named For The Living It Offered

Prosper was built in 1902 as a stop on the St. Louis, San Francisco and Texas Railway, and railroad officials named it for the prosperous living conditions the area offered.

Folks from nearby Rock Hill moved their homes and businesses to the new railroad town, and Prosper incorporated in 1914. For decades it was a farm market center in the Blackland Prairie, where farmers grew mostly cotton and corn. It stayed small for most of a century: 2,097 people in 2000, and 34,136 by 2021.

The First Ten Years

A town that grows that fast is full of young trees, most of them planted with the houses. While a tree is young is when its structure gets set, and it’s also when a buried root flare or a stake left on too long can do damage nobody sees for years. That’s nobody’s fault. It’s just the stretch of a tree’s life when usually nobody’s looking. A free walk now is a lot cheaper than a fix later.

We inspect the whole tree, root flare included, before we recommend anything, and we’ll tell you when a tree doesn’t need work yet. The right work, done right.

Collin County

Emerald Ash Borer Is Here

EMERALD ASH BORER. It’s confirmed in Collin County. Texas A&M Forest Service confirmed it here in 2024, and the Forest Service says infested trees die within two to five years. If you have an ash tree in Prosper, that’s worth knowing now rather than later. Usually the first sign is the top of the canopy thinning out, then shoots coming out low on the trunk. Whether an ash is worth protecting, and what that would take, is a conversation to have standing in front of the tree, not over the phone. Walking your ash and telling you which one you have costs you nothing.

Our Standard

The Arborwise™ Way

Six standards, on every job in Prosper, whether it is one limb or a full removal.

01

Safety Comes First

Safety is not optional on an Arborwise™ job. Required PPE, proper rigging, controlled cuts, and a crew that speaks up the moment something looks unsafe. No job is worth someone getting hurt.

02

We Don't Cut Corners

Doing it right sometimes takes longer. We do not rush an unsafe cut, skip PPE, or leave a bad cleanup because it is faster. Good tree work is deliberate.

03

Your Property Matters

Every yard belongs to someone who trusted us to be there. We protect your driveway, your landscaping, and your trees with the right cuts and the right decisions, not just the fastest ones.

04

The Little Things Count

We keep our equipment maintained, our loads secure, and we pick up the small sticks most crews leave behind. We leave every property better than we found it.

05

We Look Out For Each Other

Arborwise™ is a crew, not a collection of individuals. We communicate, watch for hazards, and speak up for one another on every single job.

06

Even When It's Harder

The Arborwise™ Way is not always the fastest way. It is the right way, even when it takes longer, and even when nobody is watching.
