A stump left behind is not just an eyesore. It is a mower hazard, a tripping hazard, and it keeps you from using that part of your yard. It's also dead wood in contact with the soil, which can attract foraging termites.

We grind below grade rather than just shaving the top flush, so the area is genuinely ready for grass, a new planting, or hardscape. Grinding can get very problematic if something underground was not planned for, so before the grinder comes off the trailer we ask about anything buried and look for meters, marker flags and sprinkler heads. Most of the time what’s down there is irrigation. If the stump sits near an electrical box, or it looks like a water line could run past it, we take the extra precaution before anything spins.

Deep enough that you can sod, plant, or build over it, which typically means several inches below existing grade. If you are planting a replacement tree in the same spot, tell us, because that needs to go deeper and wider.
Whichever you prefer. We can leave them, or haul them off and bring in clean topsoil so you can sod right away.

No. Since 2019 we have never charged a customer more than we quoted. If a job takes longer than we figured, that is our miss, not your bill. The only time your number changes is when you say so. If you decide you want more done while we are there, that is a separate line, and we agree on it before anyone touches it. And if we find something the estimate could not have accounted for, you hear about it that day, before any work continues.
