We grind below grade rather than just shaving the top flush, so the area is genuinely ready for grass, a new planting, or hardscape. Before the grinder comes off the trailer we locate sprinkler heads, irrigation lines, and utility markings, because the expensive part of stump grinding is never the stump. Most of the time we can grind the same day as a removal, which saves you a second mobilization charge.
Deep enough that you can sod, plant, or build over it, which typically means several inches below existing grade. If you are planting a replacement tree in the same spot, tell us, because that needs to go deeper and wider.
Whichever you prefer. Grindings make usable backfill and settle over time, or we can haul them off and bring in clean topsoil so you can sod right away.
