Fannin County

A Shipping Point Since The 1870s

Col. William Savoy established the town around 1863. After the Civil War, hundreds of settlers came into the area.

A post office opened in 1873, and the Texas and Pacific Railway came through that same decade, which made Savoy a shipping point for cotton, corn and grain. A tornado in May 1880 nearly wiped the town out, and Savoy rebuilt. It incorporated by 1885, and by 1888 it was shipping more than 1,000 bales of cotton a year. It sits where US Highway 82 meets Farm Road 1752, about ten miles west of Bonham.

We inspect the whole tree, root flare included, before we recommend anything, and we’ll tell you when a tree doesn’t need work yet. The right work, done right.

Fannin County

Emerald Ash Borer Is Right Next Door

EMERALD ASH BORER. As of June 2026, Texas A&M Forest Service lists forty confirmed Texas counties, and Fannin County is not one of them. Grayson County is, confirmed May 13, 2024, and so is Collin. The Forest Service says infested trees die within two to five years. If you have an ash tree in Savoy, that’s worth knowing now rather than later. Usually the first sign is the top of the canopy thinning out, then shoots coming out low on the trunk. Whether an ash is worth protecting, and what that would take, is a conversation to have standing in front of the tree, not over the phone. Walking your ash and telling you which one you have costs you nothing.

Texas A&M Forest Service, Emerald ash borer moves south, confirmed in five new Texas counties, May 13, 2024, on the Grayson County confirmation and the two to five year timeline.

Our Standard

The Arborwise™ Way

Six standards, on every job in Savoy, whether it is one limb or a full removal.

01

Safety Comes First

Safety is not optional on an Arborwise™ job. Required PPE, proper rigging, controlled cuts, and a crew that speaks up the moment something looks unsafe. No job is worth someone getting hurt.

02

We Don't Cut Corners

Doing it right sometimes takes longer. We do not rush an unsafe cut, skip PPE, or leave a bad cleanup because it is faster. Good tree work is deliberate.

03

Your Property Matters

Every yard belongs to someone who trusted us to be there. We protect your driveway, your landscaping, and your trees with the right cuts and the right decisions, not just the fastest ones.

04

The Little Things Count

We keep our equipment maintained, our loads secure, and we pick up the small sticks most crews leave behind. We leave every property better than we found it.

05

We Look Out For Each Other

Arborwise™ is a crew, not a collection of individuals. We communicate, watch for hazards, and speak up for one another on every single job.

06

Even When It's Harder

The Arborwise™ Way is not always the fastest way. It is the right way, even when it takes longer, and even when nobody is watching.
